Meet the Staff

Calvary Christian School is committed to hiring the highest quality teachers and administrators dedicated to academic excellence. All the teachers and administrators have deep Christian values and a heart for children. Teachers, administrators and all educational assistants are screened carefully and selected on the basis of their teaching expertise, Christian values, integrity, commitment and love for children.

With the belief that children do not care what you know until they know that you care, CCS teachers and administrators go well beyond the classroom to encourage, support and show love to the students. From attendance at student’s activities and sports outside of school, to calls and notes of encouragement, teachers and administrators show that they care on a continual basis.

All of our classroom teachers hold California Teaching Credentials, and many have advanced degrees, including several with Masters degrees and Reading Specialist credentials. All of our highly qualified teachers are fully committed to generosity of time and heart in their interactions with students and families.

	TERESA ROBERSON Head of School Teresa Roberson is in her thirteenth year as Head of Calvary Christian School. She received her M.A. in Administration and Supervision form California State University, Stanislaus in 1988 and her B.S. in Education from Oklahoma Christian University in 1969. She holds the California Professional Administrative Service Credential and the California Standard Elementary Life Credential. In 1997, Teresa was named the Elementary Principal of the Year for Region 7 by the Association of California School Administrators.	E-mail
	CHRISTOPHER RUTZ Assistant Head of School/Elementary School Director Chris Rutz received his B.A. in History from the University of Minnesota, his B.A. in Secondary Education from Western Oregon University, and his Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Oregon. 	LISA ASAI Preschool Director Lisa Asai received her B.A. degree in Liberal Arts from Loyola Marymount and has a California Multi-Subject Teaching Credential. She has three years in early childhood education experience and five years in Elementary Education. She is in her fourth year at Calvary.	E-mail
	MARTI WILLENS Middle School Director/Matriculation Coordinator Marti Willens received her B.A. in Journalism from the University of Texas. She teaches eighth grade English and serves as the Middle School Director and Matriculation Coordinator. Marti is beginning her seventeenth year at Calvary.	E-mail
	ERWIN WONG Director of Admissions and Community Relations Erwin Wong has a Master of Arts in Public Administration from the University of Southern California and a Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary. Erwin completed his undergraduate work at UC Irvine in 1991, and is in the process of completing his Master of Arts in Theology. Erwin is in his sixth year at Calvary Christian.	E-mail
	LESLIE CLARK Director of Marketing & Development Leslie Clark received a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and Marketing from UC Berkeley. She has worked in marketing for over 20 years with experience in consumer products, business to business, non-profit marketing and education. 	DAVID LUDWIG BTSA Coordinator and Teacher Support David Ludwig received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Michigan and his M.A. in Education and his credential from National University. 	SUSIE CURRAN 4 Year Old Preschool Susie Curran received an Associate of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education from Santa Monica College. She completed additional coursework in Early Childhood Development through UCLA extension. She teaches preschool and has been at Calvary Christian School since 1989.	E-mail
	ERICA GRIMES 3 Year Old Preschool Erica received her B.A. in Child Development from the University of Southern Mississippi. She is a preschool teacher and is in her second year at Calvary.	E-mail

	SANDI BARRY 1st Grade Sandi Barry received her B.A. in Liberal Studies from Pepperdine University. She has a SB 2042 Preliminary Multiple Subject Credential. She teaches first grade and is starting her second year at Calvary.	E-mail

	SUE KNIGHT 3rd Grade Sue Knight received her B.A. in Sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles. She has also received her M.A. and Multiple Subject Clear Credential from the UCLA. 	ANTHONY WAMBLE TK-8th Elementary Technology Specialist Anthony Wamble attended the Art Institute, Santa Monica College and the Academy of Entertainment and Technology and teaches Technology at Calvary and has an extensive background in computer technology, multimedia production, graphic design, traditional art, audio engineering and plays a plethra of music instruments. 	CHRIS BAELE Middle School Physical Education & Athletics Director Chris Baele received his B.A. in Child Development with from California State University, Los Angeles. Chris has a wide variety of experience as a coach for CCS and the L.A. Department of Parks and Recreation.
