School-Wide Service Project: Soldiers' Angels

Soldiers’ Angels provides aid and comfort to our nation’s armed forces and their families. Calvary’s service goal is to support our deployed soldiers and to help children in Afghanistan and Iraq rebuild their lives. As our designated school-wide community service organization all students in TK-8th grade support our soldiers through prayers and by sending care packages on a regular basis.

Through letters and packages of support our students have established meaningful relationships with our troops. Calvary has had the privilege of hosting multiple unit leaders who have returned from deployment to share their stories and how meaningful our packages were to the soldiers who received them.

As our designated school-wide community service organization, all students grades TK-8th support our soldiers and the people they serve overseas through prayers and by sending packages on a regular basis. Items our students send include:

• School supplies and toys for local children
• Hand-written letters of support and encouragement
• International pre-paid calling cards
• Batteries and other necessities
• Snacks, candy, gum and other treats
• Magazines and other reading materials

Through these letters and packages of support our students have established meaningful relationships with our troops. Calvary has had the privilege of hosting multiple unit leaders who have returned home from deployment to share their stories and how meaningful our packages were to the soldiers who received them.
