CALVARY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
1:1 LAPTOP PROGRAM
8th GRADE STUDENTS
2011 - 2012

Dear 7th and 8th Grade Students and Their Parents,

After completing a very successful first year of the 1:1 Laptop Program, we are very excited about the expansion of the 1:1 Laptop Program to include both the 7th and 8th grades for the 2011-2012 school year. Your children have been selected to take our school to the next level in educational technology. We believe that integrating technology into the CCS core curriculum will provide our students with essential 21st century skills to solve real world problems using higher order thinking.

One of the goals of the program is to foster a passion for life long learning. Each student will have a laptop and will take their laptops back and forth from school to home. This will support students as they engage in learning anywhere and anytime. Students will use their laptops for writing, reading, researching, and organizing their assignments while at school and at home. Laptops are powerful tools for problem solving, communicating, and collaborating with their peers and experts from around the world. By utilizing blogs, wikis, building websites and mastering new applications, students will share what they learn and publish their work to an authentic audience.

Please attend an important information meeting about the 1:1 Laptop Program. This meeting is mandatory for both parents and students.

When: Wednesday, May 18
Time: 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Where: Fireside Room
