Fundraising Overview Presentation

Parent Association Fundraisers:

OurParent Association (PA) consists of all parents of children enrolled in CCS (Preschool through 8th Grade), and is responsible for:

  • Supporting the educational and extracurricular program and helping to facilitate communication between the parents and the administration/faculty.
  • Stimulating idea exchange and understanding between the school, church, parents and the community through meetings, special events, open houses and publicity.
  • Assisting the School Board and administration in keeping abreast of parental attitudes and concerns through the PA president.
  • Fundraising to augment the educational program of the school.

The PA is responsible for many of the service-oriented committees that benefit the students. These include cultural arts, community service, Grandparents' Day, disaster preparedness, uniforms, lost & found, the end-of-the-year Olympics and Room Moms/Dads.
The PA also supports the school financially through activities such as the Holiday Boutique, the ever-popular Pizza Day, and the spring Book Fair.  Below is a brief description of each of these fundraisers.

Holiday Boutique
This event is a school and community favorite. The Boutique occurs on the first Friday in November in the Calvary gymnasium and courtyard. This past year over 70 vendors came to sell a wide variety of holiday gifts. The boutique is the Parent Association’s largest annual fundraiser, and the 2007 event collected over $90,000 to support our school’s programs!

Book Fair
This annual event takes place each spring. We invite a bookseller on campus to sell many types of books. The Parent Association organizes the Book Fair with parent volunteers and receives a portion of the proceeds.  Required summer reading books are on hand to save parents time and to inspire in our children a love for reading.

Pizza Day
Each Thursday the Parent Association serves Pizza to students in the outdoor lunch area.  Parents pay a fee at the beginning of the school year and the money is allocated to a variety of school programs.

Foundation Fundraisers:

The Calvary Christian School Foundation is an independent, charitable, tax-exempt foundation formed to provide funding for capital needs and the enrichment of the program at Calvary Christian School.  The Foundation trustees and others conduct the fund-raising activities of the Foundation without charge on a voluntary basis.   These dedicated people bless Calvary Christian School with their hard work and talent.

Spring Celebration Auction
The Calvary Christian School Foundation is excited to host our Bi-Annual Spring Celebration and Auction on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at the Riviera Country Club.  The Spring Celebration is the Foundation’s single largest benefit that funds a variety of projects to enhance our facilities and provides necessary programs that would not be possible based on student tuition alone.  We hope you will join us in celebrating our School and the special gifts it provides our children.  Every student benefits from your participation in Spring Celebration.  To make an Auction Donation, please click on the link to the Donation Form: Auction 2008 Donation Form

The Annual CCS Golf Tournament
The golf tournament is organized by the Calvary Christian School Foundation to raise funds for the Scholarship Endowment.  The tournament is held each October at Mountaingate Country Club, and is attended by Calvary Church families, Calvary school families, and friends.  A live raffle and dinner follow the day of golf.  The event raised money for a great cause and is a wonderful day of community building and fellowship.

Annual Fund:
The Annual Fund Campaign raises monies to support the academic, enrichment, athletic, and spiritual programs at CCS.  Held annually each year since the fall of 1996, the campaign encourages 100% participation by parents, faculty, alumni, and grandparents to meet the goal set each year.  Annual Fund donations are allocated to several school programs, but a majority of the fund is put toward annual operating expenses in an effort to keep our tuition at its current competitive level.  For more information on this and our general fundraising philosophy, please visit the Fundraising Overview link on this page.
