After School Program

The Calvary Christian School After School Program is offered to enrolled students in Transitional Kindergarten through eighth grade. There are 3 eight-week sessions during the school year. Classes will be offered Monday through Friday.  ASP runs from 3:00 to 4:30 pm, and a snack is provided. A variety of classes are offered including sports, homework clubs, Accelerated Reader, performing arts and technology programs, chess, Lego robotics, and more! 

Classes are an hour long, with carpool beginning at 4:15 and ending at 4:30.
Your child will be given a light snack after school going to class.
You can pick up your child in the preschool parking lot beginning at 4:15.
Most classes are $200 per child.

Cougar Club is now offered Monday through Friday!

Cougar Club is offered as a flexible after-school program. Cougar Club provides after-school care Monday through Friday until 4:30 in the ARC. This is the perfect opportunity for children to do homework and have some extra study time on an as-needed basis. Please note, there will be adult supervision and some homework help, but tutoring services will not be provided during Cougar Club.  Younger children and older children will be in designated areas to allow for study time and play time in age-appropriate ways. You can buy a Cougar Club Pass for each trimester or for the full year and have your children attend as needed. A full-year pass will be $425/per child and a single-trimester pass will be $175/child. We hope this eases the afternoon schedule for working parents and those who have children participating in different activities.

Mondays 

Class name: "Konichiwa"
Teacher: Mrs. Cooper
Grade Level: 2nd-4th Grade
Day of the week: Mondays
Stamp your passports and travel through Japan for the next eight weeks. 
Learn Japanese calligraphy, Gyotaku, fish printing, origami, tea painting,
eat sushi, and drink boba's while traveling. Max 10 kids.
 
 
Class Name: Chess

Grade Level: 1st-5th Grade
Day of the week: Mondays
Kids will learn or improve their chess skills, but will also gain memorization skills, patience, and sportsmanship! Also, chess has been shown to improve IQ!
 
 
Class Name: Minecraft Mondays!
Teacher: Mr. Rapo
Grade Level: 1st-5th Grade
This Minecraft session takes on a whole new level of teamwork, collaboration, and competition! Students will learn how to plan and measure carefully before building, in addition to working together to build these feature structures.
 

Tuesdays 

Class Name: Textile Tuesdays

Experiment with some really fun "Fiber Arts" like embroidery, punch needle and needle felting, as well as using the sewing machine and improving your hand stitching skills. (Not suitable for kiddos below 2nd grade because of the sharps involved!)

DESCRIPTION: You are cordially invited to Tuesday's S.T.E.A.M. Game Lab ASP! Join your host Mr. Yurica for 90 minutes of innovative fun! We will be using Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math to construct playable games with educational content. S.T.E.A.M. Game Lab will provide hands on opportunities for children to get creative and develop 21st century skills while doing something they'll love!

This is the perfect opportunity for your child to learn the basic skills and fundamentals of the game of volleyball from a former division one player.

This is the perfect opportunity for your first or second grader to boost their reading skills with our AR program and become an expert at taking quizzes. This class will build your child’s confidence in reading and allow them to practice independent reading in a relaxing and motivating environment.

Always dreamed of making your own lego movie? Join Mr. Max and learn how to use stop motion, a green screen, as well as the basics of editing all on an iPad to create awesome movies of your own!
 
 

Thursdays

Class Name: Art and Bingo
Teachers: Mrs. Suliivan
Grade Level: All grades

DESCRIPTION: Each week we’ll play a game of Bingo with a different animal theme (eg Monkeys/ Sharks etc) Students will learn how to draw the animal chosen for that week’s theme, wear silly costumes, take turns at being “the caller”, win fun prizes, and eat popcorn! 
 
Class name: Lego Robotics

Age Level: 1st–5th Grade
Your child will engage in challenging and age appropriate projects, learning about robotics, engineering, and programming, all while playing with Legos. They will build awesome robots and make them come to life, follow voice commands, and interact with their surroundings.
 
 

Fridays

Class Name: Acting 101!

Do you love acting? Do you enjoy being silly with your friends? Join Ms. Blackwell in Acting 101! In this class, you will learn improv games, how to read scripts, self-expression, and the art of performing! Join us on Friday's for a fun filled time!
 
 
Class Name: CCS Dance Team

Grade Level: 4th-8th Grade (Girls)

DESCRIPTION: Get ready to SHAKE IT and SPARKLE with CCS’s official DANCE TEAM! Dancers can expect to learn jazz, hip hop, and pom choreography, work on dance technique and performance skills, and most importantly have FUN! Possible performances include Spirit Day and the Cougar Bowl!

It’s time for some baseball!  Are you not getting enough baseball during recess and lunch?  Then come on out with Mr. Coffey and Mr. Wong and play America's pastime!  Everybody will get to hit, field, and play live games no matter how many people join!  The more the merrier! Price: $350 for all 14 classes or $25 per individual class. $50 Materials fee.
CULTURAL BYTES, an interactive language program will be offering FULL IMMERSION ENRICHMENT classes for kids grades K-2 in Spanish. Imagine learning and speaking a new language in a fun and game-based environment! Whether your students know a lot or a little they're welcome to join and challenge what they know in a fun and competitive environment. Teacher and students ONLY speak the target language 120 minutes a week! Speak from day one, learn tongue-twisters and enjoy the culture our native speakers bring to each class.
