Christian Values

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."  John 13:34
Calvary students develop a connection between the academic and the spiritual from reading simple Bible stories in preschool and elementary years to rich, deep study and engaged dialogue at the middle school level. Our program allows each child to grow in their knowledge and understanding of God and His deep love for each of them through Christ. The religious studies program at Calvary is rooted in the historic Judeo Christian tenets: that Scripture is the inerrant Word of God, that God exists in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and that personal salvation is dependent upon personal acceptance, through faith, of Jesus Christ as Savior. In addition to the religious studies program, all students participate in weekly worship during Chapel.

Characterized by Our Core Values

Our core values of love, humility, integrity and faith are emphasized across our curriculum in the classroom, in Bible classes and through chapel, on the playground, in sports competitions, on field trips, and through community service activities.

Transforming Hearts and Hands

Through simple Bible stories in the preschool and the elementary years, to rich, deep study and engaged dialogue at the middle school level, Calvary is focused on transforming the hearts and actions of every student, and on teaching them about God's love for each of them through Christ.

We Walk the Talk

At Calvary Christian School, we believe that we are called to love God and His creation by serving others. Calvary boasts an in-depth Community Service Program for all children in preschool through eighth grade.

We're an Inclusive Community

The CCS population is diverse in its spiritual background, which engages our students in rich, meaningful conversations about faith and practice.  About sixty-percent of our student body attend church on a regular basis, drawing from 32 different Los Angeles churches.
