Mission

Calvary Christian School has grown to become the second largest private school on the Westside of Los Angeles. Nestled in the beautiful canyons of Pacific Palisades on a seven-acre site with scenic vistas, the school is a retreat from the hustle and bustle of life on the Westside of Los Angeles.

Calvary Christian School provides an exemplary high school preparatory education for preschool through eighth grade students in a Christian day school environment. Calvary attracts families who seek an educational experience for their children that combines rigorous academic preparation with activities, athletics and an emphasis on Christian moral and ethical development. Calvary's program is designed to provide opportunities for each student to develop to his or her fullest potential, academically, physically, and spiritually. The goal of the school is to develop leaders with a Christian worldview who integrate their faith into their daily lives. Click here to read more about our approach to diversity, love and inclusion.

History

Calvary Church founded Calvary Christian School in 1963. Calvary Church and School moved to the present campus in 1989, adding classes in Kindergarten through 5th grade with 46 students in attendance. By the 1992/93 school year enrollment had grown to 200 elementary students who were served by a staff of twenty teaching professionals. That same year Calvary Church expanded the school facility to include a Middle School (grades 6-8) and increased enrollment to offer two classes per grade in Kindergarten through 8th grade. By 1998, when the first Calvary Kindergarten class graduated from 8th grade, Calvary had grown to 400 students.

Calvary’s campus has continually grown over the past decades, as we are committed to best utilizing our beautiful 7-acre campus. Calvary Church was responsible for fully funding the original school buildings, the Sanctuary, and the upper level Middle School classrooms. In recent years, we have renovated each of our classrooms, have completed an overhaul of each of our multiple outdoor play spaces around campus, and continually update our facilities to support our whole-child approach to education.  We are committed to providing the best learning environment to support Calvary’s commitment to provide a stimulating environment for exploration and growth.
